Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone:) Better late than never.

Snow

As there hasn't been much snow this winter, at least till now, I've decided to depict what has left from the latest snowfall.

Winter

As you have probably read in one of my previous posts, I hate winter and cold weather. This year it doesn't bother me that much, though. I even liked this extreme cold last week. Anyway, these are some photos I took during last Sunday.

Waxwings.

These waxwings have been found by me and my husband in my grandma's garden. There was a whole flock of them in the treetops. The photos were taken by me and Paweł in the early spring this year. Oh, I wish it was spring right now :)

Memories...

When I was browsing through thousands of the photos from my honeymoon, I found this grasshopper. It was really patient when we had met it on the track and had spent almost an hour shooting directly into its face:)

Autumn '09.

Unfortunately, I haven't had many opportunities to take pictures during this autumn. I hope there will be more such sunny days like today, during which I will be able to cath up with my photos. Anyway, the two previous posts, as well as this one, contain some shots from my walks around the town.

Iris

A few shots from this afternoon. The light was awful, but I was doing my best...

The 14th National Show of Purebred Dogs in Rybnik - Kamień (4th of October, 2009).

Last Sunday was one of those days I'm looking forward to each year. Dogs are my favourite pets. I adore them and there is hardly a breed that I'm not fond of.
The show was very successful, as for me - the viewer, except one thing. The organization of the parking areas was dreadful. It wasn't thought through at all... but it isn't the car park I'm going to show you, but the dogs of course. So, let the show begin:)

The Fatra Mountains.

As we've got a beautiful autumn this year, we've decided to visit the Fatra Mountains in Slovakia. This is a view from the mountain called Malý Kriváň.

Memories...

Another part of my memories from the trip to the Alps. The views were breathtaking. Although, I wish I were my brother who has climbed Mont Blanc a few days ago. After looking at his photos I felt like I didn't really see much in the Alps. Anyway... nothing's lost. There will be another summer in (God save me) nine months...

Three faces of orchids

Orchids are one of those flowers that have a mysterious beauty in them. Each type looks different and creates a different atmosphere around it.

Austrian churches.

What I found quite interesting during our trip (apart from the mountains of course) were Austraian churches. There are basicly two types of church towers. One of them is shown in my photos - very steep and sharp, high towers. There are also roofs with two spheres placed in the middle of the sharp, slender tower.
Churches are perfecly fitted to Austrian architecture style. Together with colourful houses and mountains they create almost a fairy tale scenery.

Sometimes one photo isn't enough.

This post is going to present you my first experiences with making panorama pictures. You must know that mountains are my favourite objects to take pictures of. And I'm sure that most of you will agree that it's almost impossible to show a magnificent and giant mountain landscape taking only one picture. There's always a piece of land that you aren't able to place in the photo. That's why I decided that our trip to the Alps was the best opportunity to try it. These are the pictures I've managed to take...

And now a little curiosity... I've managed to join 5 photos into one panorama picture... Don't hesitate to write your opinions;)

A butterfly

Sometimes, a great object to take photos of, appears unexpectedly. Like in case of this butterfly which crossed my and my husband's way some time ago. The photos were taken without any tripod or support and their sharpness isn't ideal. But still, I'm a little bit proud of them as it was the first butterfly in my life which didn't take off at the sight of me.

On friday I'm going to my holiday combined with my honeymoon. I hope the weather will be great and I will take some good photos. We are going to try our new lens, too (hopefully it will be delivered till friday).

Cornflowers

This set of photos has been taken since first cornflowers appeared on the nearby fields. I like the way the blue colour of their petals composes with the gold corn.
